Music History- Ben's first musical group was called The Clue (A Led Zeppelin and Rush rocking band!!) , in it he played drums and sang lead, a feat which is no easy task for a teenager, and still amazes this writer, he started the band Ben & The Gentlemen in 1983, of which  Ben, Bill, and Dale were also members over a 10 year span.    Ben is still singing almost all the lead vocals for Planet Groove, as he did with Ben & The Gentlemen, while he is also playing the drums.    Ben is mostly a self taught drummer and singer, with a heavy hitting drum style (he has been known to go through 4 pairs of sticks a show), and a super strong R&B voice with a raspy tinge, that is perfect for fronting a band as powerful as Planet Groove.    Planet Groove would not exist if Ben wasn't behind the kit, and lead singing, it just wouldn't be the same.

Something No One Would Know About Ben- He has only sang to his wife one on one once (when they were dating, it must have worked), also he has a need to be on stage playing, not just a want.
